There is a Walt in all of us .. !

Aih. I cant sleep. Alot on my mind .. but I dun want to think abt it.

So anyway not long ago, i saw this movie, Gran Torino.

The legendary actor Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski.. a man in his seventies, whose wife had just passed on, and how his life changed when a boy tried to steal his.. beloved Gran Torino.

Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino

I very much wanted to watch this movie solely for Clint Eastwood. I have always been very interested in checking out his movies .. but somehow i just never really got around watching them (so ashamed)  except for the Bridges of Madison County, and the other four movies in which he directed (but did not star in) i.e. Letters from Iwo Jima, The Changeling, Mystic River and Garden of Good and Evil.

Anyway I enjoyed Gran Torino very much -- and at the end of the movie I thought the title was very fitting indeed as everything was set in motion when the boy tried to steal his Gran Torino, and it also **spoilers start** ended with the boy driving away with his Gran Torino.. except this time, it was given to him -- so everything came about in a full circle**spoilers end**.

I also loved how the main character, Walt Kowalski was an old grandpa.. yet he was outspoken and feisty. Maybe its because I actually felt a lot like his character in the movie ..  in regards to how out of place he felt in society today. I hate teenagers and overtly religious people too. So every time Walt Kowalski pointed a gun at them .. i actually rooted for him to complete the job wtf

So after this movie,  i vowed to watch all of his movies *quickly adds it to my new year resolution list wtf. I figured out that like every other year -- I don't really have much to do anyway. except .. to uh, do everything new each year, eat good food.. and avoid bitch people wtf.

Now that i think about it.. maybe i should draw inspiration from Walt Kowalski and stop being politically correct all the time.. *wistful thinking

So apart from watching this gem of a movie -- I have been testing out my beloved drawing tablet (it was one of the cheapest in the market) and it did not disappoint me at all.

For RM 180, it does the job pretty well.. ! *shocked

Cause for a .. cheap ass tablet, I could produce artwork like this:
 _
 Donnie Yen in IP MAN
 _
I have been a fan of Donnie Yen ever since I saw Hero -- and ever since then, I have always tried to draw him.. except (to my horror) he would always end up looking very gay FHL. However this time around, my attempts to un-gay him have proven to be quite successful... ! *nose kembang

Then there is ..

Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in Twilight

Drawing Edward was not difficult -- except for accidentally giving him a large forehead on my first attempt. It was funny cause he ended up looking like a lohan (flowerhorn) fish wtf. Bella was however a challenge. I had to redraw a few times -- and even then the finished result is still not .. quite perfect. I'd probably redraw it again in near future (when I am in the right mood ..)!

Then here is ..
_
Philip Swift, POTC: On Stranger Tides

I thought he is very handsome -- but he was incredibly useless in the movie wtf. He is a great fun to draw though due to his features.
_
Then I added in his mermaid, Serena..
_

Someone .. please, please tell me she didn't eat him in the ending.. - the Idiot.

Anyway, I haven't completed this artwork.. yet. I suppose its because I am very mood driven in everything I do. So be patient, I just might complete it..

Last of all, here is, Avatar..
_
Jake Sully in his 'Avatar' body

It was the first drawing in which I drew on my tablet, so its not perfect at all, note the texture of the hair, and smoothness of the overall artwork.

Whew, what a long blog post..! Should I include blogging frequently in my 2012 new year resolutions too? Well, we'd see about that la. I'll probably do a proper resolution list -- when i'm in the mood (again)!
_
But one thing is for sure -- I'm so going to bed nao. Oyasumi..!! <3

Tofu Note: Do click on the artwork to view the larger version.. it looks a lot better that way as you can see the details of the artwork. (^^)
